Volvo paint codes - Location

As with most car manufacturers Volvo paint codes can be found in several locations. The most popular locations are in the engine bay or in the door shut of your vehicle on the chassis plate.

The plate can be located on the B post between the front and rear doors (Sometimes only visible from the rear open door) The format is XXX-XX with the first 3 digits being your exterior colour code.

The paint code format is usually 3 digits. The code in the above image is 421 for DARK OLIVE

We recommend always confirming the colour code on the vehicle prior to ordering. This is by far the most reliable way to ensure the right colour is ordered.

If you cannot locate your paint code on the vehicle the next best alternative is to contact a local Volvo dealer parts / service department with your registration / VIN number. They will be able to confirm your colour from the relevant manufacturer database. (Alas only dealers have access to this system)
