Mercedes paint codes - Location

As with most car manufacturers Mercedes paint codes can be found in several locations. The most popular location is on a black sticker / plate which is found on the bottom of the door pillar / B Post (inside drivers door shut).

Earlier mercedes will have a paint code stamped on a metal plate usually found on the slam panel(where the bonnet closes). On this plate the code is usually 3 Digits and found next to a letter.

The paint code format is usually 3 numbers on the mercedes (commercial vehicles can have a 4 number code with an extra digit at the front), The code on this image is found just above "TYP" and is 723 CUBANIT SILVER

We recommend always confirming the colour code on the vehicle prior to ordering. This is by far the most reliable way to ensure the right colour is ordered.

If you cannot locate your paint code on the vehicle the next best alternative is to contact a local Mercedes dealer parts / service department with your registration / VIN number. They will be able to confirm your colour from the relevant manufacturer database. (Alas only dealers have access to this system)
